What is translation?

Translation is the rendering meaning from one language into another language and translation refers to written language. The purpose of translation is to convey the original intent of a message, taking into account cultural and regional differences between languages.

This is done by going from the form of the first language to the form of a second language by way of semantic structure. It is meaning which is being transferred and must be held constant. What is notarized translation? 

According to the definition published at Wikipedia, Notarized Translation ( dịch thuật công chứng ) is a service to convert the language of documents bearing the legal seal of an organization or agency into a target language according to the needs of customers (translation). These documents will then be taken to the Justice Department (usually of the State) to certify that the translation is accurate compared to the original (notarized) document signed by the translator (which has been sealed off) listed in the Department of Justice).

One point to note is that foreign documents must be consularly legalized at the diplomatic mission before translation and judicial notarization (except for documents and documents of some countries) exemption from legalization under the Mutual Legal Assistance Agreement and the Consular Agreement between Vietnam and that country).

Notarized translation plays a crucial role in the international integration. Nature of notarized translation

The nature of notarized translation is that the content of the documents, after the translation is completed, must be signed by the translator (the translator’s signature has been registered in the Department of Justice) to ensure that the translated content is correct , in accordance with the attached original content and the important thing in this translation must be signed – the stamp of the Judicial Office of the district, district and equivalent, it is the number of the text and the date of the certification.

The notarized translation has the following compulsory provisions:

  • The translator has the qualifications and certificate for that language.
  • Only translators registered at the Department of Judicial of the District People’s Committee, Notary Office or translation company can sign for certification of the standard translation.
  • Authentication body must be recognized by Vietnamese law.
  • Translation company endorsement (eligible by Vietnamese law)
  • Translation notarization of the Department of Judicial under the People’s Committee (State Notary Public).
  • Notarization translation of notaries of Notary Offices (Private Notaries)
